Carl S. Cansino

Carl is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A. 92) and John Marshall Law School (J.D. 95).  Carl started his legal practice with James W. Hurt & Associates in Cordele, Georgia.  In 1998, Carl relocated to Milledgeville, Georgia after accepting a position with the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

For the next six years, Carl gained valuable trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney.  His caseload consisted of nearly 100+ cases of drug cases, armed robberies, rape and murder.  In 2004, Carl left the District Attorney’s Office and formed The Cansino Petty & Stribling, LLP.  Later that same year he became General Counsel for the Oconee Community Service Board a position that he presently holds.  In April 2004, the Honorable Sonny Perdue, Governor of the State of Georgia appointed Carl to serve on the Consumer Advisory Board to the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs.  In 2006, the Milledgeville City Council appointed Carl to the position of Solicitor for the Municipal Court of the City of Milledgeville.  Carl is a member of the Ocmulgee Bar Association, the Baldwin Bar Association, a member of the criminal law section of the State Bar of Georgia, and a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL.)
